来月日本時間12月13日に開催されるゲームの祭典「The Game Awards 2024」ノミネート作品が発表された。同アワードでは、ノミネート作品がまず発表され、その中で同日部門別アワードが公開されていく仕組みである。今年も発売されたタイトル、あるいは活躍した人物の中から錚々たるゲーム/人物がノミネートされている。その中でも、特に日本産タイトルが存在感を放っている。
Game of the Yearには『アストロボット』『ファイナルファンタジーVII リバース』『Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree』『メタファー：リファンタジオ』といった日本ゲームがずらり。『黒神話:悟空』は中国生まれで、『Balatro』を除けばすべてアジア産となっている。ノミネートは、そうした今年のゲーム業界の縮図ともいえそうだ。
