Greetings, fellow adventurers! This is the Elin State of the Game editorial team.

We’d like to share Elin-related news that have been sent in from all over Ylva this month as well.

This is the June issue of “Elin State of the Game,” out on Nyan Nyan Day (the 22nd), as always. When the festival ends, summer arrives!

This Nyanth’s Update

No new stable update has been released this month yet. So, we’ll be highlighting some features from the last stable update that we couldn’t cover, as well as some content from the Nightly version that’s currently under development.

Ouch! It’s piping hot!

First, let’s look at the previous stable version. You can now create floors of bubbling, boiling magma!
If used effectively, this might allow you to make maps that were previously difficult to recreate, such as castles floating on lava or magnificent volcanoes.

In the walls

Next, in the Nightly version, races such as ghosts and phantoms can now pass through walls.
When exploring Nefia, be careful not to be ambushed from within the walls.

Are you ready for summer vacation?

A vehicle perfect for the hot season is being added to the raffle prizes!
Cross your fingers and try to win it so you can really get into the vacation spirit.

Cats! Cats! Cats!

Good news for adventurers who want to bury their faces in soft cat fur and inhale the scent of bread or popcorn to their heart’s content: an incredibly massive cat has been discovered in North Tyris!
Several other new breeds of cats have also been confirmed. Just keep some Churyu stashed in your pocket, and the cats will come right to you.

Rumors of a priceless, shining, truly ultra-rare item

Whispers have begun to circulate among some adventurers about a new treasure: shoes that bring happiness to the wearer. Word is that they can be obtained, on extremely rare occasions, from an elusive, swift-fleeing monster. In fact, some even doubt if something so rare actually exists. But if you do manage to get your hands on them, you could say that happiness is already in your grasp.

Between her seasonal outfits and the sight of Corgon being hung out to dry alongside the laundry, you can really picture the lively everyday life at the base.

Lumiest Art Tourism Journey 2

The online fan event “Lumiest Art Tourism Journey 2,” inspired by Elin and its predecessor Elona, has wrapped up with resounding success!
The virtual event space, modeled after Lumiest, was bustling like a party venue with attendees dressed up as Snow Putits, Little Sisters, and more. Once again, the event featured a diverse array of creations, including merchandise, manga, and fan-made games.
Below, we’d like to share a selection of the writings and artworks submitted by the exhibitors. We hope this gives you a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
While space constraints prevent us from showcasing everything, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude once again to all the adventurers who graciously provided images of their work.

Architecture of the Month

Housing is life. In fact, it’s deeper than life itself.
This time, we’re showcasing these terraced rice fields. It’s such a magnificent piece that you can almost hear the quiet flow of water and the chirping of birds dwelling in the trees.

There are also alternate versions of this map, completely changing the atmosphere despite it being the exact same location. It would be fun to imagine the scenery after the rice harvest, or the winter landscape that follows.

I was wondering if the Eulderna race is somehow related to Rudy from Mushoku Tensei? (From Premo)

The Eulderna are a race conceived before the isekai genre became popular, and I remember modeling them after “Melniboné” from Michael Moorcock’s Elric Saga. The New Kingdom and Mayroon might have also been influenced by the Elric Saga.

Are you considering adding stockings as a type of whip? (from ylty12, original in Chinese)

I never thought of using stockings as a whip! Since Elin aims for an old-fashioned and hardcore world setting, we would need to be careful about introducing them, but I’d definitely like to look into it.

Verna keeps getting endlessly abduct—er, replenished in the Garden of Eternity, but exactly how many Vernas are there in her original world? (from Shoujo wo Sagasu Mirai, original in Japanese)

There is, of course, only one Verna in the original world, but due to various circumstances, she ended up multiplying. However, as far as I’ve confirmed, she should only multiply up to a maximum of three, so if she is multiplying any more than that, it might be a bug.

Eureka says, “Mr. Billy, if only he didn’t have those spikes…” but does that mean she actually stroked him at least once? Also, she mentioned (to summarize) that while it’s an honor to be entrusted by her master to guard Where Wind Rests, she gets bored. What does Eureka do in her free time there? Is she really just training the whole time? (From Maguro, original in Japanese)

It certainly makes you wonder if she’s already stroked him, doesn’t it? We asked the backer of Eureka and Ivan directly.

From the backer:
Eureka is generally a serious person, but much like her master, she can be surprisingly impulsive about weird things. She did attempt the “fluff challenge” on Billy once and learned her lesson the hard way.
 

As her dialogue suggests, she is basically bored at Where Wind Rests, so she spends most of her time quietly training alone. However, Ivan has also entrusted her with investigating the lower world, so she regularly travels to nearby towns (Mysilia, Lumiest, and Mifu Village) to write reports. She even dutifully reported the disastrous incident where poison sprayed from her hands after she fluffed Billy, a story that Ivan listened to with great amusement.

Hello everyone, this is noa.

The Elona & Elin Web-Only Event has successfully concluded again this year. I took a leisurely stroll around the venue myself, thoroughly enjoying the various merchandise and artworks. I even secretly (?) left my mark on the drawing board. A huge thank you to the organizers and all the participants for another wonderful event this year!

Lately, my passion for sci-fi has reignited after reading “Project Hail Mary” (which also got a movie adaptation). I also finally got around to reading the famous “Three-Body Problem,” and right now I’m in a state of Three-Body withdrawal, letting my mind drift through space. Works filled with a Sense of Wonder truly are amazing… I want to develop Elin with a massive serving of Sense of Nyander.

Starting from the next Nightly period, I plan to update the home quests. Please look forward to the next issue!
