Guilty Gear developer Arc System Works to “dramatically” strengthen development capacity with new Tokyo studio and workforce upsizing

The new studio will open on November 2.

Arc System Works has announced that it will open a new development base in Tokyo, Japan as of November 2. Located in Shinjuku, the new studio will officially be named Arc System Works Tokyo Studio ‘Takumi’.

According to the announcement, Arc System Works has decided to open the new studio in order to “dramatically strengthen development capabilities” across its titles, beginning with a new fighting game that was selected for the “IP360” project, a subsidy program of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

This unannounced new fighting game has been mentioned before through METI’s announcements, but not much is known about the project so far other than that it belongs to a brand-new IP and uses the signature ArcSys cel-shaded anime style.

With the opening of Takumi studio, Arc System Works is also significantly expanding its recruitment efforts, with listings open across various game dev positions.
