Sentinel Girls sequel Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2 to release in August with online ranking system, new cards and weapons 

On August 13, indie developer hinyari9 announced the release date for Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2, the sequel to 2021’s well-received high-tempo shooting action game Marfusha: Sentinel Girls. Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2 will be coming to Steam on August 27, 2024. It will be available in English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Keeping the original’s winning formula, Sentinel Girls 2 will add a new Challenge mode, new cards, even more weapons and improved animation. 

Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2’s story centers on the character of Snezhinka, the adopted younger sister of Marfusha from the first game. It seems that the game will bring fans more of Sentinel Girls’ winning formula of cute girls aggressively defending country borders in a 2.5D dystopian pixel art world. It will also keep its predecessor’s simple controls, high tempo gameplay and card-based leveling system. The first game, Marfusha: Sentinel Girls, currently has a Very Positive rating on Steam (93% of 2340 reviews are positive).  

Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2 will introduce a new Challenge mode, complete with an online ranking system and new rules, which should add extra challenge for those who found the first game easy. Developer hinyari9 has also taken to X to show some of the new weapons that will appear in the game- including a powerful but fragile Electric Gun and a Tank, which can be upgraded. A Squad Tactics card, which will allow comrades to follow the player, and an Over time request card are among the new cards that will appear in Sentinel Girls 2. The developer has also improved the character animation. 

Snezhinka: Sentinel Girls 2 will be released on PC (Steam) on August 27.
