As part of the 30th-anniversary celebration of A Goofy Movie, Disney uploaded a ten-hour Lo-fi video on its YouTube channel featuring Max Goof studying to some chill beats. While Max’s room contains an assortment of items relating to A Goofy Movie and other Disney properties, viewers also noticed several Kingdom Hearts references.
There are three Kingdom Hearts Easter eggs in the Lo-fi video. One sticker on Max’s mug features a Paopu Fruit – a mystical star-shaped fruit native to the Destiny Islands. A sea-salt ice cream sticker – a dessert first introduced in Kingdom Hearts II – can also be found on the mug. The final Easter egg is a photo of Twilight Town hanging on Max’s room wall.

As there has been little to no new information since Kingdom Hearts IV was first announced in 2022, it is understandable that fans would get excited over any mention of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Some predict that Spoonerville, the town where the Goof Troop animated series, A Goofy Movie, and An Extremely Goofy Movie take place, will be featured in Kingdom Hearts IV.

Some fans just want Max Goof to make an appearance in the Kingdom Hearts games, as his father Goofy is one of the main characters. While it would be nice to see the father and son interact, others point out that Goofy would be labelled as a negligent father since he left Max to go adventuring with Sora, Donald, and the rest of the gang.
Both A Goofy Movie and the Kingdom Hearts franchise hold special places in fans’ hearts (pun intended), so it would be nice to see Square Enix and Disney work on something that includes both properties. While past games tend to prioritize Disney worlds, who knows what other locales future entries Kingdom Hearts will explore?
Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development by Square Enix.
