Ahead of its June 18 shareholders’ meeting, Capcom recently updated its console game sales figures for the fiscal year ended March 2026. As spotted by Game*Spark, while titles like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Street Fighter 6 all sold more than in the previous fiscal year, Devil May Cry 5’s annual sales figures reached a new all-time high, seven years after launch.

When it was released in March 2019, Devil May Cry 5 sold around 2.1 million copies. Its next strongest year was the fiscal year ended March 2023, when it sold another 2.1 million copies, followed by its new all-time high of 2.7 million copies sold during the fiscal year ended March 2026. The latter spike in popularity was likely due to the release of the Netflix animated series, several timed franchise discounts, and the promise of wacky woohoo pizza adventures. As of March 2026, Devil May Cry 5 has sold a total of 12.9 million copies, making it Capcom’s best-selling game that isn’t part of the Monster Hunter or Resident Evil franchises.
While there is still no word about a new Devil May Cry game, the release of Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 is likely to get more players in on Dante and company’s unique brand of demon slaying action before Capcom decides to show what is next for the franchise.
Devil May Cry 5 is available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Windows (Steam). A Nintendo Switch 2 version featuring all previously released content is set to release on June 23, 2026.
