A stark contrast to what you would expect from a regular omurice diner experience, Fuwa! Fuwa! Omurice Simulator Roguelite combines rhythm gameplay and business management into a fast-paced simulator title. As the owner of a small omurice diner, you serve customers while struggling to stay afloat amidst an ever-changing business landscape.
During the day, you serve customers by correctly playing songs in a rhythm minigame. Higher scores net you more cash and experience points, which can be used to upgrade and manage your diner. If you prefer the managerial side of gameplay, an auto-play mode allows you to skip the rhythm minigames and get down to the brass tacks of business management.
At the end of each day, you make business decisions regarding your finances, investments, and employees (there’s even a skill tree that lets you keep track of your current build). On top of costs such as rent, taxes, and employee salaries, you also have to deal with global economic crises that constantly shake up the in-game stock market. These can lead to price increases for ingredients and your diner’s stocks.
To help you in your venture, Fuwa! Fuwa! Omurice Simulator Roguelite lets you spend money to purchase randomized boons at the start of every business day (new items are unlocked over multiple playthroughs). These include increases to the shop’s atmosphere and customer satisfaction, which lead to a better overall score when completing the rhythm minigames. Additionally, collecting special items called “Nyamo” (the blue bunnies) lets you unlock new skills such as the ability to buy and sell stocks and raise funds for the diner.
Running a business in Fuwa! Fuwa! Omurice Simulator Roguelite isn’t easy, and failure is part of the learning process. Stock prices and boons change with each playthrough, requiring quick adaptation and the creation of unique diner business builds.
Created by Studio Hakua Laboratory, Fuwa! Fuwa! Omurice Simulator Roguelite is currently in development for Windows and macOS (Steam). A demo is currently in the works.
