My Dad is a Femboy short visual novel out on itch.io. A dark humor sci-fi where men over forty must choose between death and becoming a femboy

Indie developer PopElephant Studio has released the short visual novel My Dad is a Femboy, available via itch.io in English and Simplified Chinese.

The story is set in a near-future society where the environment has “gone to hell” and men suffer from what’s known as the Y-Erosion Syndrome. Once they turn forty, men must choose between succumbing to the ailment or becoming a femboy. The visual novel follows Bull and Jim, a father and son who only have each other. Bull used to say he’d rather die a man than become a femboy, but Jim is torn about leaving his father to die.

The game comes with two endings, with each route offering about 30-45 minutes of gameplay. While there is no explicit content, the developers warn about depictions of illness, coma, death of a family member, medial ethical dilemmas, and implied incestuous attraction among other sensitive themes.

My Dad is a Femboy comes from the developers of Dissolution of My Self, a psychological horror boys’ love visual novel that released on Steam in September 2026. The game is currently rated “Very Positive” on the platform with over 400 reviews.
