Japanese publisher Good Smile Company and developer NEKO WORKs have announced that the free-to-play mobile gacha game, Nekopara Sekai Connect, will come to PC via Steam starting September 28. The publishers also mentioned that the Steam News section on the store page will post updates with various info, including the setting, cat girls, and various in-game systems right up to the release of the game.
Nekopara Sekai Connect on PC will launch with a cross-account linking feature, allowing players to link their mobile progress to the new Steam version once released.
For the uninitiated, Nekopara Sekai Connect is a spin-off of the original Nekopara visual novel series. Unlike its original counterpart, the game is a sandbox-style café management game with an emphasis on collecting catgirls via its gacha system. Featuring a brand-new story written by series creator Sayori, Nekopara Sekai Connect leans toward exploring the broader implications of the series’ worldbuilding, something longtime fans had only glimpsed in fragments.
The news of the Steam release of Nekopara Sekai Connect coincided with the announcement that a new cat girl will be added to the roster. As a limited-time pickup gacha banner, Mayumi, a five-star new student hailing from Sakura Hills Nekos College, will be added to the game. The gacha banner will launch in the mobile versions after the server maintenance scheduled for August 24, 2026, and will run until September 7, 2026 at 15:00 JST.
A story update is around the corner as well, adding the sixth and final chapter of the Sakura Hills Nekos College storyline to the game. To coincide with the new story chapter, Good Smile Company will be hosting a limited time login campaign that will launch alongside the event, offering gacha tickets for the aforementioned Mayumi banner. VR Cat Tower, which serves as the end-game content, will be seeing an update that unlocks floors 201F through 300F for all four cat types (main, sweet, pop, and passion cats).
Nekopara Sekai Connect is set to release on September 28, 2026, for PC (Steam). The game is currently available on iOS and Android. The game is available in English and Japanese, with additional Simplified Chinese language support coming in the future.
