Japanese solo developer Kizami Lemon Toast recently unveiled the Steam store page for their gambling roguelike game ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE, or in Japanese “The Big Trinity! Ultra Bizarre Chaotic Gambling Game ~ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE~.” Coming to the platform later this year, the title is described as a chaotic “melting pot/ultimate freakshow of a gambling game,” mixing elements of poker, mahjong, hanafuda, and blackjack.
At the start of every round, the player is dealt five cards and prompted to create hands, in a similar manner to poker. However, the catch here is that you’re getting a mix of poker cards, mahjong tiles and Japanese hanafuda cards, which you can then match and rearrange to create unique hands and moves and essentially “cross the boundaries” of many different games within ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE. But what does this even mean?, you ask.
For example, the Eight of Hearts (playing cards) and the Eight of Dots (mahjong) can make a poker Pair. Building a hand of 21 will get you a Blackjack, regardless of the type of card or tile you’re using. There are also some original hands that ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE introduces to its already unhinged sounding gameplay. You can get a Black-Weak when your hand falls short of Blackjack, and a Fake Royal Straight Flush is just like a normal Royal Straight Flush except it’s made entirely out of cards that aren’t playing cards.

Before starting each round, you place a bet, and your winnings or losses depend on the payout multiplier for the specific hands you made. Of course, it is possible to make multiple hands at once, and you can also swap the cards in your hand with new ones by spending some of your betted cash.
However, another twist ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE puts to the “Balatro-like” gambling game format is that it doesn’t let you go too crazy with the multipliers. In-game, you’ll be given a wallet for storing all your winnings, with a certain cap on how much money you can earn. You are completely free to keep stuffing cash into it even beyond its capacity, but that will make the wallet prone to explosion. The more you exceed its limit, the higher the chance that your wallet will explode, giving you an instant game over. However, it is only after you’ve exceeded the wallet’s cash limit that you’ll be able to upgrade its capacity, so assessing the situation and being able to quickly decide when to raise and when to fold will be crucial for avoiding a failed run.

According to the developers, the striking colorful artwork and hyper-saturated visuals are also there to keep your blood flowing and “push your gambling fever into overdrive.”
ULTIMATE CHAOS GAMBLING BATTLE is coming to Steam in 2026.
