Japanese developer qureate released Bunny Garden 2, the official sequel to their flagship bunny girl romance adventure title, on April 16 for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). Celebrating its release, the company announced that the game debuted on the first place of Japan’s Top Sellers ranking on Steam. At the time of writing (April 17), the game sits in second place right below the recently released Pragmata.
Interestingly, Japanese players report that the Nintendo Switch version of the game has topped the sales ranking on the My Nintendo Store. This comes despite the Switch port featuring restrictions on certain in-game content, including suggestive poses, expressions and camera controls.
While Bunny Garden 2 maintains the core gameplay loop centered on spending your time with the girls at the titular “gentlemen’s retreat,” it also introduces new characters, new minigames and expanded ASMR features. Specifically, the “Blindfolded Tag” minigame uses spatial audio and ASMR to simulate the feeling of being pursued and teased by the girls. Other than that, there’s also a “forbidden” open-wide game in which you feed and are fed “various things,” and a risqué minigame inspired by Japanese karuta.
On a related note, in a special promotional video from February, qureate announced that besides Bunny Garden 2, one more new series spinoff is currently in the works. Since most of the details, including estimated release window, are still kept under the wraps, it is yet to be seen whether the new spinoff will turn into a continuation of the tipsy girl game Merry Bunny Garden, or a completely different concept.
