Expelled from Paradise visual novel depicting the story after the events of the 2014 anime to launch on Steam and Switch on November 26

Published by Toei Animation and developed by Studio 51, Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel is coming this November.

Japanese publisher Toei Animation and developer Studio 51 have announced that Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel will release on November 26 for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. The game’s Steam store page and official website have also been made available.

Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel is based on the 2014 original animated film Expelled from Paradise (Rakuen Tsuihou -Expelled from Paradise-) directed by Seiji Mizushima and written by Gen Urobuchi. Set in the far-flung future where humanity lives in cyberspace due to the entire planet being beset by a macro-disaster. The story centers around Angela Balzac, a security agent sent to the real world after a series of mysterious hacking attempts that would risk the lives of the people in the virtual world.

Taking place after the events of the first film, Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel bridges the gap between the original film’s story and the upcoming feature length sequel premiering on November 13. The scenario for the game will be written by Shotaro Teshirogi, who has previously authored the light novel Expelled from Paradise: mission 0, which served as the prequel to the 2014 film.

Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel notably features an emotion-driven choice system dubbed the “K2-system”, which is triggered during major plot points throughout the game. The feature allows the players to decide between emotional choices that emphasize Angela’s human connections with others, dubbed “KIZUNA” and choices that lead towards the conviction to stick to her objectives called “KAKUGO”. The choices made throughout the story can result in multiple endings, and the Steam store page warns how “some paths lead to endings from which there is no turning back.”

Expelled from Paradise: The Stellar Angel is scheduled to release for PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch on November 26. The game will launch with English and Japanese language support.
