VR Kanojo creators announce new VR girlfriend simulator for Steam
ILLUMINATION announced their new title VR-Kanojo on June 27. The girlfriend simulator game is scheduled to launch in Q4 of 2024 on Steam. If the name sounds awfully similar to ILLUSION’s VR Kanojo from 2018, it’s because the new title is headed by the same producer, under a newly founded company.
It seems VR-Kanojo is not a sequel to the original, but rather a new and improved version. Your girlfriend, Sakura Yuhi, visits your room for the first time, setting the stage for all kinds of couple interactions and activities such as watching movies and taking baths together. The game will make use of VR controller haptics to make touching Sakura feel more lifelike.
ILLUSION, the developer behind the original VR Kanojo from 2018, announced that it would be ceasing activities in July last year. However, after receiving multiple inquiries about a new VR Kanojo game from fans and fellow developers (the game is rated Mostly Positive out of 1,741 reviews), the title’s producer decided to start working on a brand-new girlfriend simulator, under the new company ILLUMINATION.
A crowdfunding campaign for VR-Kanojo is planned for this Summer. The campaign will reward pledgers with special in-game costumes, voiced messages, merchandise, illustrations and more. Further information is expected to be announced at a later date via ILLUMINATION’s official X account.
VR-Kanojo is scheduled to be released in Q4 of 2024 for the PC (Steam).
