Visual novel Angel in Inferno follows four mean girls travelling back in time to undo their sins for a chance at reincarnation

Angel In Inferno is an indie game published by Waku Waku Games and developer by solo dev Hitosaji.

Angel in Inferno is an upcoming visual novel with a unique take on second chances. Developed by Japanese solo indie dev Hitosaji and published by Waku Waku Games, the game is currently in development for Windows (Steam) and is slated to release sometime this year in Japanese.

The story follows four deceased girls who were sinful throughout their lives. They make a pact with a fallen angel (who takes on the form of a cloud with a halo and devil wings) to be reborn, only for the angel to task them with traveling back in time to prevent their past selves from committing crimes. As you progress, the sins of each girl are revealed, as are the causes of their deaths and the “madness and darkness” within their hearts. Despite its cute and pastel-colored aesthetic, the dev warns that the story contains depictions of homicide, suicide, and bullying.

Angel in Inferno’s narrative branches depending on your choices, with a total of eight possible endings. While each playthrough takes roughly an hour to complete, the game is designed so it can be quickly replayed, allowing you to discover the secrets behind each character at a brisk pace.

Angel in Inferno is currently in development for Windows (Steam). There are currently no announcements about English localization.
