Magical yuri visual novel Sign: Broken Kether follows a witch stranded in the modern world and a rebellious gyaru who helps her regain her powers. Out now on Steam

Sign: Broken Kether has earned a "Very Positive" rating on Steam following its October 26 launch.

Four-person indie developer Nekonoke Works recently released the urban fantasy yuri visual novel Sign: Broken Kether. Since its Steam launch on October 26, the game has earned a “Very Positive” rating on the platform with over 70 reviews.

Set in the city of Longhua, the story follows Lyra, a rebellious high school girl whose ordinary life is disrupted when she encounters Cygnus – a witch. After being reverse-isekai’d into a contemporary urban world, Cygnus has lost much of her powers, and her memories are fragmented. Meanwhile, a colossal tree mysteriously erupts in Longhua’s Central Park, and increasingly strange events begin to unsettle everyday life.

The game follows Lyra and Cygnus as they investigate these incidents and recover the witch’s lost powers. As they hide the witch’s identity and face danger together, the two gradually grow closer.

Sign: Broken Kether unfolds as a linear visual novel, offering approximately 8 to 12 hours of gameplay. The visuals draw inspiration from Alice in Dissonance’s Fault series and Type-Moon’s Witch on the Holy Night. While Sign: Broken Kether is a standalone game with a completed story arc, it’s envisioned as the first entry of a broader, episodic series.

The developers warn for depictions of violence, death, and self-harm among other sensitive themes.

Sign: Broken Kether is out now for PC (Steam).  The game will be on a 20% discount until November 9.
