The Chinese servers for Neverness to Everness (NTE) recently got a patch that includes a change to the new Cosmos character, Shinku. Following fan complaints about the game’s “sexy elements being nerfed,” Shinku’s shorts and spats in some of her costumes have since been changed to reflect her appearance in promotional materials in other countries. NTE’s global servers are slated to get the Version 1.2 update, which includes Shinku and her original designs, on July 9.
As pointed out by fans, the Dragon Knight costume removes Shinku’s black shorts, revealing the armor plating which is more in line with the skin’s design. The Student of Terrasea costume, on the other hand, completely swaps the spats model for panties.
NTE is no stranger to fan service. Several female characters have costumes that, when viewed from certain angles, reveal they are wearing frilly underwear. One example is Nanally’s The Popular Kid costume, which outfits the character in a sailor-style school uniform. Though the costume’s skirt is long enough to hide the character’s private areas in most situations, performing certain actions and using the in-game photo mode allow you to view her from more revealing angles.

While the changes to Shinku have been welcomed by those who asked for them, others are notably upset, arguing that the character’s fighting style practiallyrequires her to wear shorts or spats. Since this is the Internet we’re talking about, there’s a high chance that not everyone will be satisfied no matter how many changes are made to the game.
It’s worth mentioning that the Shinku patch was released just 12 hours after Version 1.2 went live on July 2, which is a rather quick response by the devs at Perfect World to “un-nerf” their newest character. On the other hand, Marvel Rivals just nerfed its Seaside Sentinel skin for Captain America, reducing his crotch size to less heroic proportions, likewise in response to complaints from players.
Neverness to Everness is available on Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, as well as Windows and macOS (downloadable from the official website).
