Publisher Perfect World Games updated shareholders on the performance of its open-world anime RPG Neverness to Everness (NTE) on April 30, a day following the game’s global release. According to the company, first-day sales exceeded 100 million Chinese Yuan (roughly $14.64 million USD), though it’s unclear if this figure includes sales from the Chinese version of the game too.
Going into specifics, the publisher says Japan and the United States account for the largest revenue shares, while South Korea’s share is exceeding expectations. In terms of platform breakdown, PC and PlayStation 5 users account for roughly 75% of NTE’s revenue.
The reception to Neverness to Everness has been generally positive, with data showing that players are spending more time exploring the urban world than engaging in combat. In that respect, Perfect World Games is considering introducing paid city-themed content that includes character skins, clothing, houses, and cars.
With regards to the game’s future, the developers are taking player feedback and concerns into account, and plan to address them in future updates. Versions 1.1 and 1.2, for starters, will improve performance and usability to make the game more accessible. Perfect World Games also plans on improving gameplay to enhance its appeal and increase player retention.
Neverness to Everness is available on Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, as well as Windows and macOS (downloadable from the official website).
