Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen director returns to spearhead the sequel’s DLC

Kinoshita unveiled more about the upcoming DLC in the latest Capcom Spothlight.

Dragon’s Dogma fans will be happy to know that Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen director Kento Kinoshita will be returning to his role for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion. In the latest Capcom Spotlight, Kinoshita unveiled more about the upcoming DLC and how it will enhance the base game.

At the heart of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is its new campaign, which takes place in the abandoned northern region of Norgan. It is here that the Arisen (the player character) encounters the Fallen Dragon, an undying dragon that is missing its heart. Together with newcomer Eir, you set out to unravel the secrets behind the Fallen Dragon.

As you explore and fight through Norgan, you’ll come across Relics, unique items in Dark Arisen that can be appraised by specific NPCs. Appraising Relics allows you to forge strong weapons and armor, some of which have special effects and unique skills.

Dark Arisen also includes 12 difficult dungeon challenges, which, when completed, award rare equipment for your Arisen. If fashion is more your thing, the DLC also features new hairstyles and tattoos that give you a new look for new adventures.

The original Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen added a new questline set in the Bitterblack Isle region, as well as new skill upgrades, foes, weapons, and armor that enhanced the game’s difficulty and replayability. It also included several quality-of-life improvements, such as the Eternal Ferrystone, which allows for unlimited fast travel between any active Portcrystal.

With Kinoshita’s name now attached to Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, fans are excited to see what else is in store for the game’s future. The first massive update, which was released earlier this month, included several fast travel and quality-of-life improvements. The second update patch will focus on adjustments to Dragonsplague, Pawns, and enemies, while introducing more save slots and weapon skill slots. These two big updates, in addition to smaller ones, will also address gameplay performance

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam). A Nintendo Switch 2 version is set to release alongside the Dark Arisen expansion on October 9.
