Nexon has announced the upcoming title FAREIDOLIA. Previously known as “Project RX,” the game has now received its official title, alongside new details about the setting and characters. Note that some of the names and in-game terminology in this article are not official translations.
FAREIDOLIA is a new bishoujo game developed by Nexon’s IO DIVISION, in which players live alongside girls with unique abilities in an “isekai”-like setting. The game takes place in Anima City, a city in a parallel world that closely resembles Earth. Players take on the role of the director of Anima City’s restoration center, while also serving as the caretaker of the center’s office building, Twilight Hall. Living alongside a cast of girls with unique abilities, known as “Mates,” players will work to resolve the various issues that arise throughout Anima City while forging bonds.

The cast revealed so far includes Minieh, an explorer who lives for the thrill of the ultimate adventure; Ohana, a self-proclaimed genius all-rounder; Shami, a cat-eared girl who is perpetually short on money; and Elevator Girl, a mysterious girl responsible for operating the elevators at Twilight Hall. The game will center on their everyday lives.

FAREIDOLIA was first teased back in October 2024 under the codename Project RX, as an “immersive 3D anime game.” The project is headed by Min-seo Cha (who used to be a producer on Blue Archive), with Blue Archive character designer YutokaMizu in charge of art direction.
FAREIDOLIA is currently in development for PC, mobile and consoles. The game is also scheduled to appear at Nexon’s booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, where visitors will reportedly be able to try out the game and participate in activities such as rock-paper-scissors with its characters.
