Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World to release on Steam despite series’ past struggles with Steam guidelines 

Game publisher Shiravune announced that Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World will be released for the PC (Steam) on February 15, 2024. The news has come as a surprise as the Steam releases for both Dungeon Travelers 2 and Dungeon Travelers 2-2, from the same series, have previously been cancelled. 

Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World is a 3D dungeon RPG in which you create a party with the female cast of the To Heart 2 series. In Dungeon Travelers, the To Heart 2 characters are thrown into the RPG’s world and have to look for clues and defeat the final boss to return to their original world.

The game features turn-based battle, and party members belong to different classes with unique skills and characteristics. When leveled up to a certain point, party members can be upgraded to higher classes. The numerous enemies in the game also take the form of cute girls, and the overall difficulty level is quite challenging. 

The game was first released by Aquaplus for the PSP in June 2011 and followed by a PS Vita version, which improved the image quality of the illustrations. The PC version announced this time around will be based on the PS Vita version and will have an increased resolution (from 960 x 544px to 1920 x 1080px). The high-resolution screenshots can be seen on the Steam store page. According to the press release, the PC version is compatible with Windows 10 (64bit) onwards and mouse/keyboard input. 

As mentioned previously, the Steam versions of the game’s sequels Dungeon Travelers 2 and Dungeon Travelers 2-2 were cancelled in July 2023. According to the press release at the time of the announcement, the decision to cancel the releases was made because it was “difficult to maintain sufficient quality and appeal while complying with Steam’s service guidelines.” As for the more successful Dungeon Travelers, it is marked as an Adult Only game on Steam, and access to the Steam store page requires age verification.  

Dungeon Travelers: To Heart 2 in Another World is scheduled to release on February 15 for the PC (Steam).
