Japanese e-book publisher BookLive announced on October 1 that its publishing platform Xfolio (クロスフォリオ) will begin commercial distribution and sales of fan-created doujin works for the Touhou Project series. The initiative is being conducted with permission from Team Shanghai Alice, the doujin group owned by ZUN, the creator and rights holder for the series.
The statement by BookLive announced that applications for participation have opened today as well. Eligible submissions include a wide range of mediums including manga, illustration collections, novels, and other publications, regardless of whether the work is digital or physical.
The publisher described the initiative as a new way to digitally publish and sell Touhou Project-doujinshi through a commercial e-book storefront, while remaining within an officially authorized framework. The platform stated that it seeks to offer a digital space for doujin works that is more globally accessible in the future.

BookLive also highlighted creator compensation, stating that participating creators may receive royalties of up to 75%. A special time-limited campaign going from October 1 to November 3 will be offering up to 80% royalty rates for the first year of any submitted work.
The move would represent a rare example of a major Japanese IP creating an officially sanctioned commercial e-book pathway for fan-produced works. The initiative could potentially expand the reach and longevity of doujin publications that were previously available only through limited physical distribution channels.
Xfolio (Cross Folio) is a Japanese creator platform operated by BookLive that is designed to support both content hosting and creator monetization. According to BookLive, the platform is focused on helping creators showcase their work and interact with fans within a single ecosystem.
