With Deltarune Chapters 1-4 just around the corner, Toby Fox decided to give fans a look at his first character sketches of Noelle, Ralsei, and Susie. The drawings, dated April 2015, were made before Undertale’s PC release in September 2015.
Noelle’s and Susie’s final appearances haven’t changed much from their initial designs: Noelle has a more pronounced overbite in her final design while Susie sports a thicker mullet. Ralsei underwent some drastic changes, as the goofy facial expressions and lack of glasses in his first design contrast with his more reserved appearance and personality in the game. Since all three are featured prominently in Deltarune’s story, Fox must have gone to great lengths to make each character look unique.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 is set to release on June 5 for Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, PC (macOS and Windows), and PlayStation 4 and 5.
