After making a quick post in April telling readers to stay tuned for a publication date announcement from Shuseisha, Hunter x Hunter creator Yoshihiro Togashi has graced the internet with yet another manga update. His latest X post shows the completed manuscript for chapter 421, all sealed and ready for sending to Shonen Jump, suggesting that 11 Hunter x Hunter chapters are already in the publisher’s hands.
The Hunter x Hunter manga is known for its hiatuses, attributed in no small part to Togashi’s health problems. Its latest chapter, chapter 410, was published on December 9, 2024 – making it almost a year and a half since fans got a story update (there’s even a dedicated webpage that keeps track of the manga’s hiatuses).
Some might be wondering why Togashi is posting a chapter 421 manuscript update now when his post from back in April was about chapter 430’s inking. While inking involves an artist tracing over their rough sketches and is further down the manga creation process, there are still several steps remaining before an inked manuscript is completed and ready for handing over to the publisher. Togashi appears to be working on several Hunter x Hunter chapters at once, and fans are more excited than usual. His X post currently has over 127k Likes and 16K reposts, with many fans eagerly awaiting the manga’s return.
