Peter’s son, Manoah Peter Tuiasosopo, broke the news on Facebook whilst detailing his father’s life and impact on others.

Over on X, fellow Street Fighter cast member Ming-Na Wen (who played Chun-Li) gave her condolences to Tuiasosopo’s family and loved ones. She also fondly remembers the time she spent with Tuiasosopo, calling him a “teddy bear of a man.” Wen’s statement was reposted by the official Street Fighter X account, saying that Tuiasosopo’s portrayal of E. Honda will continue to be part of the franchise’s history.

Aside from E. Honda, Peter Tuiasosopo played smaller roles such as a bodyguard in The Fast and the Furious, Charlie’s Angels, and The Scorpion King. Prior to acting, he played professional football.

While he will mostly be remembered for playing the live-action version of the Japanese headbutting hero, Tuiasosopo’s kindness and on-screen presence will be felt for years to come. According to Manoah, he and his family are discussing a proper Celebration of Life of his father and will announce the details once they have been finalized.
