Japanese indie game publisher FINE and developer Shadow Glove have announced that their upcoming psychological adventure game The Second Reality Room: Unspoken Truths will be released in Early Access on Steam starting October 9, 2026. A limited-time discount will also be available from launch day till November 12, with the game at 35% off.
In The Second Reality Room: Unspoken Truths, players take on the role of Kogoro Satori, director of the titular Second Reality Room, as they interview and reveal the underlying “illness” afflicting various teenagers diagnosed with “chuunibyou,” a colloquial term describing adolescents with delusions of grandeur. The clients that come through the door talk and act with varying degrees of eccentricity, requiring Kogoro to talk, translate, and at times even peer into their “second reality”.

Gameplay is divided into three actions: Talk, Mind Read, and Translate. With “Talk,” players must gather contextual clues through conversation with the client. “Mind Read” allows Kogoro to temporarily slip into the chuunibyou’s reality as they see it. With enough clues, players can finally “Translate” the meaning behind their words, uncovering their motivations and history behind why they act the way they do.
The Second Reality: Room: Unspoken Truths is developed by Shadow Glove, a relatively young development team under FINE, who have previously released the social deduction game Yokai Landlord: Monster Mystery!, which is currently rated “Very Positive” on Steam. Their new title features character designs and illustrations by Japanese illustrator Shikimi, with a soundtrack by Sumire Murasaki, known for their contributions to the music of hit visual novel Urban Myth Dissolution Center.
The main theme for the game, Trans-Carte, will be released worldwide via various music streaming services starting October 9, 2026.
The Second Reality Room: Unspoken Truths’ story is told in six chapters, including a prologue and an epilogue. The Early Access version of the game will include content all the way to chapter 4, totaling approximately 7~9 hours of gameplay, according to the Steam store description. The official release will add the remaining chapters 5 and 6 as well as the epilogue, bringing the total playtime to approximately 12 to 14 hours. FINE and Shadow Glove said they plan for Early Access to last for about two months, aiming for an official release within 2026.
The Second Reality Room: Unspoken Truths is set to release in Early Access on October 9 for PC via Steam. The game will launch with English, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) language support. A demo is available now, which includes the prologue and first chapter of the game.
