Project Rabbit is a dark, Alice in Wonderland-inspired soulslike action RPG coming from Korea

Novaflare recently teased its upcoming new title Project Rabbit, a dark fantasy soulslike RPG with escape and survival elements.

Novaflare, a relatively new South Korean studio formed by NC (formerly NCSoft) veterans, unveiled its debut project Project Rabbit with a trailer released on May 14. The studio describes the game as an “extraction soulslike action RPG” inspired by a dark fantasy reimagining of Alice in Wonderland, in which players must fight, claim treasure, and return safely with their loot at the end of each run.

The game’s world blends Eastern and Western cultural elements, with the trailer depicting European castles right next to traditional Korean tiled houses (as ThisIsGame points out), with jangseung village guardian totems juxtaposed against horse-drawn western carriages.

Combat leans into familiar mechanics of the soulslike genre, with dodging, parrying, punishing enemy patterns, and multi-phase bosses (as hinted by the boss fight showcased in the trailer), with the game also incorporating escape and survival elements.

The extraction process is hinted at in a cryptic way on the game’s Steam page. Apparently, the game takes place in the “Abyss of Time,” a single world that’s an amalgamation of different realms. The beings in it are consumed by madness, and players are supposed to fend off their deadly attacks alongside Alice, while discovering hidden treasures and uncovering the land’s buried secrets. According to the Steam page, you’ll be able to forge your own combat style by experimenting with countless combinations of weapons, equipment, and skills.

The game also promises Online Co-op, Online PvP, Cross-Platform Multiplayer, as well as language support for 10 languages including English.
