Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade sees huge influx of PC players wanting to catch up on the trilogy following the reveal of FF7 Revelation and big Steam Sale

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and Rebirth are seeing peak concurrent player numbers after a big Steam Sale and Revelation announcement.

Following the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Square Enix’s two-week Final Fantasy Franchise Sale, many PC players are flocking to the first two games to catch up on the trilogy before it concludes next year. While the concurrent player count for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and its sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, did not exceed the numbers of their respective launch dates, both games saw a noticeable spike in concurrent players, showing renewed interest in the franchise.

Steam numbers for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade started to rise over the weekend, peaking at a high of 10,082 players on June 14 at 2 PM UTC (source: SteamDB). This number is almost on par with the 13,803 people who were simultaneously playing the game four years ago during its Steam launch.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade’s Steam player count had two other notable spikes in the past, both of which are related to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Its first rise was a high of 9,107 players during the March 2024 Steam Spring Sale following the PlayStation 5 release of Final Fantasy Rebirth on February 29, 2024. Its second influx was a 9,139 concurrent player count on January 23, 2025, during the Steam release of the sequel. This makes June 2026’s spike in player count the largest one since the initial peak during the game’s launch.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth did not see as big a spike as its predecessor, but its regular player base (which often hovers around 3,000 players) doubled to 6,826 players on June 14 at 2 PM UTC (source: SteamDB). Given its lower player count compared to Remake Intergrade, this could mean that players are planning to experience the trilogy in chronological order, starting with the first game.

On the topic of the Final Fantasy Franchise Sale, it is worth noting that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are currently at the lowest price they have ever been. Remake Intergrade is 65% off at $13.99 USD, while Rebirth is 60% off at $19.99 USD. Considering the current price of these two games and how long it takes to beat them (HowLongToBeat lists Remake Intergrade’s main story as taking 32.5 hours to complete, while Rebirth’s story takes 48.5 hours), it’s understandable that players would want a head start before diving into Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled to release in Spring 2027 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox on PC), Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X❘S.
