Japanese doujin store DLsite lets you reveal your fetishes on Twitter

DLsite, a popular digital content distribution platform in Japan is holding an April Fools’ Day campaign. While the announcement of their original game DLsite world is just an April Fools’ joke, the campaign’s avatar generation feature and coupon giveaways are not.

The avatar generator lets you generate your avatar according to the time and money you spent on DLsite in 2021. You can then share your results on Twitter with a press of a button. But be careful, as it also reveals one of your favorite genres. Since DLsite deals with a lot of 18+ content, you might end up sharing your sexual fetish depending on your purchase record. The campaign page does warn you about it by saying that the results may include 18+ words.

For obvious reasons, many users on Twitter are saying that they wouldn’t dare share the result online. Gamecast blog’s Terashima jokingly tweeted that it’s an act of suicide. There are some brave souls who are sharing their results, though.

I couldn’t bring myself to share mine, so here are some sample results generated on the website (actual results come with a more detailed avatar image and a rarity ranking):

If you’re a DLsite user who’s interested in buying more content on the website, check out their new discount coupons that can be used on any product until April 4 at 23:59 (JST). There are two types of coupons available, and one of them gives you a 15% discount and can be used multiple times.
