Abyss Memory is a high difficulty drawing game launching April 28

Byking describes their latest title as a drawing action game with easy controls but difficult challenges. The protagonist, Mariel, will walk forward and players must keep her safe by drawing different types of lines for different situations. Sometimes lines will be needed to help Mariel cross a gap, and other times they’ll be used to block enemies and flick away attacks.

Mariel is an angel and a bookworm that spends her days in the grand library going through its collection. A book with blank pages titled “Abyss” piques Mariel’s curiosity and leads her to peek over the heavenly bridge down at the “Abyss” below. It sounds like guiding Mariel through this world will be no easy task, but with some problem solving, players should be able to guide her to her goal.

Byking is mostly known for developing multiplayer arcade games like Starwing Paradox and Gunsliger Stratos. They were also a development partner on Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. However, Abyss Memory Fallen Angel and the Path of Magic looks to be different than anything they’ve done before. According to this video from Byking, the title was born from gathering their young staff members and letting them freely come up with something different than the types of games the company is known for.

Abyss Memory Fallen Angel and the Path of Magic is planned to launch on the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) on April 28. A demo is also available for those interested in trying it out.
