Steam Next Fest began, and here are some of the demos that are available

The new Steam Next Fest arrived, with over 700 free demos available to download. Specifically, demos for new titles scheduled to be released before May 2022. The event will run until October 7. Here are some of the demos you can try out.

Transiruby – A new metroidvania game from Skipmore, known for their previous title KAMIKO, which received a positive reception when it came out on Steam back in 2019.

Undungeon – An inter-dimensional rea-time battle ARPG drawn in pixel art aesthetics. Four years have passed since the game’s initial announcement, and it will finally be released later this year.

TUNIC – An isometric view Zelda-like action game with a fox protagonist and cute yet beautifully realized low poly visuals.

Blind Fate: Edo no Yami – A side-scroller featuring cyber-samurai fighting in the sci-fi dystopian Edo period ruled by machines.


The Good Life – A small-town mystery adventure from the creator of Deadly Premonition series, Hidetaka “SWERY” Suehiro. The full game is scheduled to come out on October 15.

Not Tonight 2 – A dark comedy RPG which is described as “an American document-checking road trip, fusing a time-pressure RPG.” It features a game mechanic reminiscent of Papers, Please.

The Use of Life – A gamebook-style RPG being developed by a Japanese solo dev, in which the ending will change depending on how you choose to use your life. English is not supported at this moment.

Tavern Master – A medieval tavern management sim. It was exhibited at TGS2021 and is available in multiple languages including English/Japanese.

Factory Defense – A simulation game that involves factory construction and automation, as well as tower defense style gameplay where you can join the fight in first-person view.

Settlement Survival – A Banished inspired settlement building sim. Lead a group of survivors to expand your new home. You can change the terrain and shape the landscape as well.


Hometopia – A simulation game where you can freely design and build modern houses. Online co-op is supported.

Art of Destruction – A physics sandbox simulation game, where the main objective is to demolish the buildings you’ve constructed.

LakeSide – A side-scrolling city builder where you build a picturesque city by a lake. It requires you to manage resources as well.

War Mongrels – A grim real-time tactics game set in the eastern front of World War II. The game is set to come out on October 19.

JARS – A strategy game of jar destruction and sarcophagus defense, with puzzle and tower defense elements.

Starship Troopers – Terran Command – An RTS based on the Starship Troopers movies universe.


Inscryption – A new game by the creator of Pony Island. It’s a psychological horror game which blends the deckbuilding roguelike genre and escape-room style puzzles.

Zoeti – A deckbuilding roguelike game with poker-like rules, set in a fantasy medieval world of swords and magic.

Steam Next Fest will run until October 7. It’s a great opportunity to try out and discover upcoming games. For some of the titles, gameplay is livestreamed by the developers on the store page.
