Stellar Blade’s Shift Up denies rumors of new Los Angeles studio and NIKKE Netflix adaptation

Shift Up published its earnings report for the third quarter of the fiscal year on November 12, giving updates on Stellar Blade’s Steam launch and other future plans. In subsequent reports by the media, two pieces of misinformation cropped up, and the developer has come out to deny them.

As reported by Game*Spark, Shift Up has made the following statements:

At present, we have no plans to establish a new studio in Los Angeles.

There are currently no plans to partner with Netflix to produce an anime adaptation of Goddess of Victory: NIKKE.

With that out of the way, Shift Up’s financial report did confirm that their new multiplatform IP Project Witches is still on track to launch in 2027, and we’ll be getting more information about this in the first half of the next fiscal year. So even though the NIKKE anime was a false rumor, there’s still a lot to look forward to from Shift Up.
