Guilty Gear and BlazBlue developer Arc System Works saw a return to profitability in the fiscal year ended May 2026. This information was made public via Japan’s government gazette on September 14 and reported by GameBiz.

In the recently ended fiscal year, Arc System Works recorded a net profit of 115 million yen, recovering from the previous year’s deficit of 803 million yen (approximately $5.18 million USD). Game releases by the company during this period include Double Dragon Revive, Absolum, the brand-new RPG Damon and Baby, textless adventure game Dear Me, I was…, and card-based survival game Goritaire.

Going forward, the developer has plans to develop a brand-new fighting game IP utilizing the signature ArcSys cel-shaded anime style. Although details about the game itself are largely shrouded in mystery, it has been confirmed for a simultaneous multiplatform release in several languages. This project is being funded by the Japanese government as part of the “IP360” initiative (much like Koei Tecmo’s project “FUJI”).

Another noteworthy future release by Arc System Works is the anime-style JRPG Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow, set to release on September 24 as a joint project with UnitePlus.
