Snoop Dogg collaborates with Ado in RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven theme song, appears as an in-game character

"Stranger Than Heaven," the theme song to RGG Studio's eponymous game, is performed by Ado, Sosuke Fujihara, Tori Kelly, and Snoop Dogg.

You can’t keep a good dog out of a good game, as is evidenced by rapper Snoop Dogg’s appearance in the latest Stranger Than Heaven trailer. In addition to dropping some rhythmical truths in the game’s theme song, aptly titled “Stranger Than Heaven,” Snoop also plays an integral role in the story as the smuggler Orpheus.

While definitely not a name one would expect to see on the soundtrack, Snoop isn’t the only singer who performs the theme song. He is joined by Ado, Official Hige Dandism’s Sosuke Fujihara and American singer Tori Kelly. All of the artists mentioned also play characters in Stranger Than Heaven.

A prequel to the Yakuza/Like A Dragon series, Stranger Than Heaven follows American-Japanese protagonist Makoto Daito as he leaves the U.S.A. in search of greener pastures in Japan. After stowing away on a ship alongside the stranger Yu Shinjo, they are discovered by the captain Orpheus (played by Snoop Dogg), who takes Daito under his wing as they engage in legally questionable activities.

Stranger Than Heaven takes place over the course of several time periods, including 1915’s Kokura, Fukuoka, 1929’s Kure, Hiroshima, 1943’s Minami, Osaka, 1951’s Atami, Shizuoka, and 1965’s Kamurocho, Tokyo (the last of which serves as one of the main locations for the Like A Dragon games). Players will engage in a deep story, a new combat system, and more minigames than you can throw a karaoke machine at.

Stranger Than Heaven is set to release in Winter 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows (Steam, Xbox on PC).
