Today in “God I wish that were me,” Palworld developer Pocketpair has published an original illustration in celebration of a fan’s Palworld-themed wedding. Said fan is Japanese X user Wani, who appears to have a very strong attachment to Cattivas.
On May 5, Wani posted to their personal account announcing that they’d gotten married. For the ceremony, they decided to decorate their reception venue with a pair of Cattiva plushies. Fashioned into a bride and groom, the smug bipedal cats are adorned in a hand-stitched satin tuxedo and wedding dress respectively, and the high quality of the costumes suggests a considerable amount of effort went into making them – pearl necklace, veil, (fish?) and all. According to Wani, the Cattivas were tasked with welcoming guests at the venue’s entrance space.
Only a week later, Pocketpair’s official Japanese account responded to the newlyweds with an illustration made from scratch, with the message “Congratulations on your marriage! The Cattivas’ outfits were so lovely, one of our creators went ahead and drew them!” The artwork recreates Wani’s handiwork, with the bride and groom Cattivas holding up a cake in celebration of their wedding. In response, Wani said “there is no greater joy than this.”
Speaking of game developers and wedding fanservice, last year, Konami issued a one-of-a-kind Yu-Gi-Oh! card as a wedding gift to Japanese content creator Hajime Syacho, customizing the standard “Ritual Sanctuary” card into an illustration of him and his wife.
