Japanese developer records miraculous 6214% profit growth thanks to explosive success of Gakuen Idolmaster

CyberAgent subsidiary and game developer QualiArts announced that their annual profits have soared by 6214% over the past financial year. Established in 2016, QualiArts is known for developing and running mobile games.

As reported by ITMedia, QualiArts released their results for the current fiscal year (spanning from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024) today. Net profit totaled 3,107 million yen- a staggering 6214% year-on-year increase compared to the previous financial year’s 50 million. Net assets were up by 249% to 7,635 million yen.

This astronomical increase in profits is believed to be driven by Gakuen Idolmaster, a mobile game that combines idol-raising with Slay the Spire-style deck building. Jointly developed and operated with Bandai Namco, the game has been downloaded over 2 million times since its release in May. It also won Best Game in the Google Play Best of 2024 awards
