Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact delayed to 2025 because of rollback netcode

Bushiroad and Eighting announced on September 30 that Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact’s launch will be delayed to 2025. The licensed 2D 3v3 team fighter was initially supposed to be released in 2024 for the PC (Steam), PS5 and Nintendo Switch, although an exact date had not been given.

According to the announcement, Hunter x Hunter fans will have to wait till sometime in 2025 for the much anticipated fighter. The developers give a clear reason for the delay – they need extra time to implement rollback netcode.

A common feature of 2D fighters, rollback netcode offsets lag and allows for smoother interaction during online matches. Demand for it has risen in recent years, and the absence of rollback has even become a deal-breaker for some players when deciding what games to buy, so the decision to include it in Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact will probably be welcomed by many.

Bushiroad and Eighting will be announcing the new release date for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact as soon as it is decided.
