Guilty Gear Strive’s Queen Dizzy is coming to the Nintendo Switch version for free
Fighting game fans waiting for Guilty Gear Strive ’s release on Nintendo Switch this coming January 23 will be happy to hear that Queen Dizzy will be available to all players for free just one month later in February 2025. The content update will make her free for Switch players to keep forever.
As one of the main characters in the franchise, Queen Dizzy has been requested by fans ever since the game was released in 2021. It was only during the unveiling of Season Pass 4 this year that Queen Dizzy was announced as a playable character, alongside veteran Guilty Gear character Venom, Unika (one of the protagonists from Sanzigen Inc.’s upcoming Guilty Gear Strive Dual Rulers anime), and Lucy, protagonist of Studio Trigger’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
Queen Dizzy debuted in Guilty Gear Strive on October 31, 2024. Her special attacks “Michael Sword”, “We Talked A Lot Together” and “For Roasting Chestnuts” make her a great mid-range zoner while her relatively safe normal attacks allow her to swat away opponents who try to get near her. Queen Dizzy’s biggest strength, however, lies in her ability to apply a unique Frozen state with one of her heavy slashes and “I Used This to Catch Fish” special attack. Once an enemy is Frozen, Queen Dizzy has a short window to let loose with her devastating combos.
Getting a Season Pass 4 character for free is a great incentive for Nintendo Switch owners looking to play Guilty Gear Strive. The fighting game already has a wealth of DLC that includes various cosmetics, stages, music, and playable characters, so saving on at least one piece of content is a win in anyone’s book. It is currently not known whether the full Season Pass 4 will be discounted on Nintendo Switch after Queen Dizzy becomes a free character.
Guilty Gear Strive is currently available on PS4/PS5, PC (Windows), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and arcades. The Nintendo Switch version is scheduled to be released on January 23, 2025.
