Capcom has announced updates to character editing in Monster Hunter Wilds, planned to roll out alongside the Ascendance expansion in 2027. The update will allow players to re-edit their characters’ appearances (hunter and Palico) for free as many times as they like without using Character Editing Vouchers, a paid in-game item.
This change will apply to all players regardless of whether they purchase the upcoming DLC, while Character Editing Vouchers themselves will be removed from the game starting December 3 this year. Any vouchers players still own will remain valid and usable until the system update in 2027. Additionally, as a temporary measure until Ascendance’s release, Capcom will provide players will 10 Character Edit Vouchers and 10 Palico Edit Vouchers each.
Originally, Monster Hunter Wilds provided one free voucher for editing your hunter and Palico respectively, while further editing required the purchase of paid vouchers. Three-Voucher Packs cost $6.99, while a bundled character and Palico Edit Voucher three-pack cost $9.99. With this system being abolished, editing your character’s appearance will become fully free without any limits imposed.
Meanwhile, everyone who has previously paid for Character Edit Vouchers will receive a Special Thank-You Pendant Set (Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar), which can be claimed in-game starting December 3.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 edition is scheduled to launch on December 4, while the Ascendance expansion is planned for 2027.
