Japanese indie developer Plameta Keeper announced that its latest deckbuilding roguelite, HITORIASOBI, will launch on PC (Steam) in 2026. A new trailer, introducing the protagonist, Rina-chi, and her bear plushie companion, Poco, has also been unveiled on YouTube. A demo is coming soon.
HITORIASOBI follows young girl Rinachi, who lives surrounded by things she loves. One day, her cherished friend Poko invites her to play a strange game created just for her. The game’s exact premise remains partially obscured, though it is hinted that something deeply sinister may be hiding behind its cute and childlike aesthetic.
In HITORIASOBI, players battle across a compact 5×6 game board using toy soldiers with different abilities and costs represented by “marbles,” or ohajiki (traditional Japanese glass tokens). The goal is to protect your own toy king while defeating the enemy king, much like in a game of chess or shogi. Players build and strengthen their roster of toy-inspired pieces throughout each run, collecting new units and upgrades while progressing through branching routes. More than 100 toy units are planned for the full release.

The Steam store page reveals additional gameplay systems, including collectible stickers that provide battle bonuses, destructible toy obstacles that grant advantages to the player who destroys them, and other new mechanics designed to add variety to each encounter.

The official HITORIASOBI website announced that more information will be revealed on November 3 during an official livestream on Plameta Keeper’s YouTube channel.
HITORIASOBI is set to launch for PC (Steam) in 2026, with English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified/Traditional) language options.
