A Personal Winter is a short BL visual novel about a boy and his senpai setting their school on fire

A new title by Land of Ghosts developer brutal_vap,

Japanese solo indie developer brutal_vap has released the short visual novel A Personal Winter for PC (Steam). While the game is only available in Japanese for now, the developer seems to be planning future English support and is currently recruiting translators.

A Personal Winter takes place on a snowy night, following a boy and his senpai, Ryo. The two visit an abandoned movie theater before deciding to set fire to their school for the sheer thrill of it. The story unfolds through dialogue, visuals, and music, offering a playtime of around 1 to 2 hours and around 35 hand-drawn illustrations.

The developer describes A Personal Winter as a BL novel game with a similar atmosphere to Land of Ghosts – a literary horror adventure game they released in May this year (currently rated “Very Positive” on Steam). Players are warned about mature content such as depictions of depression, blood, and burns.

A Personal Winter is out now in Japanese for PC (Steam).
