To celebrate the announcement of its upcoming roguelite action title CRYMELIGHT, developer FuRyu is holding a sale for the game’s predecessors, namely 2018’s CRYSTAR and 2025’s CRYMACHINA.
The biggest discounts can be found on Steam, with CRYSTAR at 90% off for $1.99 USD (the cheapest it has ever been since launch) and CRYMACHINA at 35% off for $38.99. The discounts are part of the FuRyu Games publisher sale, which runs until May 5 at 10 am UTC.
Those on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, as well as PlayStation 4 and 5, are not left out, however. The Nintendo Switch eShop currently has CRYSTAR at 65% off for $17.49 USD and CRYMACHINA at 50% off for $29.99 USD. Both games are discounted until May 7 at 6:59 am UTC The PlayStation Store currently has CRYSTAR at 80% at $3.99 USD until May 7 at 6:59 am UTC.
Unlike the upcoming CRYMELIGHT, which features a mix of top-down, real-time action and card-based deckbuilding, both CRYSTAR and CRYMACHINA are straight-up third-person action RPGs. CRYSTAR follows Rei Hatada, a young high school girl who travels to the depths of Purgatory to save her sister, Mirai. The game’s combat system is unique in that it revolves around grief, where crying helps Rei become stronger and enhances her weapons. CRYMACHINA, on the other hand, follows several mechanical girls fighting in a post-apocalyptic world to become real humans.
Though their stories are not directly connected, FuRyu’s “Cry” series often includes tear-jerking narratives that tug at your heartstrings. Given that the CRYMELIGHT follows an amnesiac who can see her companions’ painful memories just by touching them, it would be safe to expect that the latest entry will be just as heavy-hitting.
CRYSTAR and CRYMACHINA are available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and Windows (Steam). CRYMELIGHT is set to launch on November 5 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows (Steam).
