SpiralAI surprise-released the Japanese version of RyzaChat: AI Your Midsummer Dream Story with AI Ryza (unofficial translation) on August 25. The game was originally supposed to launch on August 18, however, due to an unexpectedly high number of pre-registrations, the release ended up getting postponed. Aside from Japanese, the game will be available in English, Brazilian Portugese, Indonesian, Hindi and Traditional Chinese, with the global version featuring all 6 languages coming at a later date.
RyzaChat: AI is an AI-powered chat RPG developed by SpiralAI and Koei Tecmo’s studio Gust. The game features an RPG mode, in which progression unfolds through your interactions and conversations with Ryza.
After completing a short tutorial on Kurken Island, the full world map unlocks, letting you explore a free-scenario-style story through new personalized quests which generated as you progress. The game promises an essentially unlimited number of quests, allowing you to engage in exploration, material gathering, combat, synthesis, and construction alongside the full cast of characters from the original Atelier Ryza trilogy.
Aside from the story-driven RPG Mode, there is also a Chat Mode which lets you have casual one-on-one conversations with Ryza.
After its official reveal earlier this month, the game witnessed a surge of pre-registrations, so the developers decided to delay the release in order to “further strengthen its server infrastructure.” In an update announcing the game’s release on August 25, they explained that, due to widespread generative AI usage, it’s been increasingly difficult to secure necessary quantities of high-performance GPUs required to generate Ryza’s answers and synthesize her voice accordingly. However, the developers say that they have been working on expanding their GPU resources, with most of the preparations having wrapped up yesterday.
RyzaChat: AI Your Midsummer Dream Story with AI Ryza is out in Japan for iOS and Android. A global version is set to launch soon.
