As cool as Monster Hunter Wilds’ armor sets are, sometimes you just want to marvel at the character you spent so long creating. Here’s how you can hide your character’s helmet and weapons without removing any of their associated buffs.
Open the Start menu and go to the “System” tab. Under “System”, choose “Options” and flip to the third page of the “Game Settings” menu. It is here where you will find the “Head Armor Visibility” and “Weapon Visibility” tabs.
Head Armor Visibility allows you to choose from three options. “Show” will always show your character wearing their helmet during gameplay and in cutscenes. “Hide” will put your character’s beautiful mug in view no matter the circumstances. “Hide During Cutscenes” provides a happy medium between the two previous options, as your character’s helmet will only be hidden during story cutscenes.
Weapon Visibility has both “Show” and “Hide During Cutscenes”, but it does not have a “Hide” option. Considering how important and defining a hunter’s weapon is, Capcom probably wanted players’ weapons to be visible at all times during gameplay. While most weapons block you from viewing your character, it does a better job of immersing you in the world and makes it easy for other players to identify your loadout.
