NC (formerly NCSoft) has begun accepting applications for the upcoming closed beta test of DynamisOne’s Astrae Oratio. Applications are open until September 21 at 03:00 UTC via the official website. The test will be held on iOS and Android, with the exact test period due to be announced at a later date.
Astrae Oratio is an RPG themed on “bureaucracy and magic.” Set in Tokyo in 1889, during the city’s period of rapid postwar economic growth, the game depicts a world where magic users live alongside ordinary people. Players take on the role of a low-ranking local government employee who suddenly gets assigned to the mysterious administrative body known as the Special District Office, which holds authority over Tokyo’s entire magical world. As the government official responsible for Tokyo’s magic users, the protagonist must handle all manner of predicaments involving magical girls living in the city.
From what we’ve seen so far, gameplay unfolds through 3D turn-based battles, while the story is told through visual novel-style game sections with dialogue choices.
The upcoming CBT will be conducted globally ahead of Astrae Oratio’s full launch to improve the game’s quality and incorporate player feedback. It will be available on iOS and Android, with Japanese voice acting and English text supported. Participants will be selected by lottery from those who submit the CBT application survey on the official website. After recruitment closes on September 21, selected testers will receive an email with confirmation of test access and a test guide. Emails will be sent out in batches.
The minimum hardware requirements are a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and 6GB of RAM on Android; or an A14 chip and 4GB of RAM on iOS. Recommended specifications are a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 8GB of RAM on Android; or an A16 chip with 6GB of RAM on iOS. At least 10GB of free storage space will also be required.
Astrae Oratio is scheduled to launch in 2026 on iOS and Android.
