During an earnings briefing held on May 14, Nexon announced that its upcoming anime game Project RX will be releasing on consoles (as reported by Inven). Previously, the title was only confirmed for a PC and mobile launch. While Project RX is not an open-world game, the news of a console release has fueled curiosity about its scale and gameplay.
Developed by Nexon’s IO Division, Project RX is a new project helmed by Blue Archive lead Min-Seo Cha. Information on the upcoming title is still scarce, but we do know that it’s an immersive 3D game designed to feel like a slice-of-life “isekai,” where players live together with a cast of beautiful girls. A teaser released back in December last year showed off some of RX Project’s 3D models and cozy domestic scenes, but it also gave a glimpse of fantasy elements and (what appear to be) skill cutscenes, suggesting combat is part of the game too.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, Project RX is significantly more ambitious in scale than Blue Archive – with Nexon doubling the number of development staff – and the announcement of a console release has further raised expectations. Currently, the game’s release schedule is TBA, but further announcements can be expected via IO Division’s official X account and YouTube channel.
