ANOMALITH and CRYMELIGHT’s limited-time demos extended as devs work on improvements

Furyu extends ANOMALITH and CRYMELIGHT's limited-time demos due to high player demand.

Due to popular demand, Japanese development studio FuRyu has announced that the free demos of ANOMALITH and CRYMELIGHT, which were supposed to be available until August 9, will continue to be available indefinitely. As of August 8, the games have reached over 70,000 and 60,000 Steam Wishlists, respectively.

The ANOMALITH demo will continue to receive updates based on player feedback, with the devs releasing a full update roadmap leading up to the game’s launch on October 28. A patch slated for late August is set to introduce various improvements, including enhancements to keyboard and mouse controls (the latter includes mouse support for various UI screens, more key binding options, and mouse sensitivity adjustments). A September patch is scheduled to add a new difficulty mode and more improvements based on player feedback. Lastly, early October will see more demo improvements, as well as its release on the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

While CRYMELIGHT doesn’t look like it will be receiving any demo updates, the devs announced that they are actively looking for feedback through the game’s official Discord server, and thanked those who have already done so. That said, unlike the ANOMALITH demo, which will be available until the game’s release, the announcement mentions that an end date will be decided for the CRYMELIGHT demo.

ANOMALITH is an upcoming survival horror shooter set in an alternate version of Japan where the Showa era unfolded differently. You play as Reona Minazuki, a “Diver” of the government-backed agency known as the “Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office.” During her first dive into an Anomaly Zone (naturally-emerging hazardous areas), Reona gains a strange powers, and emerges as the sole survivor of the mission. Reona must then discover the secrets of her powers and the Anomaly Zones, as well as find her missing friend..

CRYMELIGHT is an upcoming roguelite action game and a standalone successor to FuRyu’s dark CRY bishojo action game series, preceded by 2018’s CRYSTAR and 2023’s CRYMACHINA. Set in the afterlife prison known as Wonderland, the game follows an amnesiac girl who is given the name Alice. With nowhere else to go, “Alice” partakes in the prison’s death game, which has her fighting the Queen to escape.

ANOMALITH is set to release on October 28 for Windows (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.  CRYMELIGHT is set to release on November 4, also for Windows (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Both games currently have free demos on Steam.
