Japanese game studio FuRyu recently announced that its upcoming titles, the liminal space anime shooter ANOMALITH and the Alice in Wonderland-themed roguelite action game CRYMELIGHT, will be featured at Steam’s Six One Demo Days event. New footage of the games is set to premiere during a showcase on July 31 at 4:00 PM UTC, alongside week-long limited-time demos that will be available until August 7.
ANOMALITH’s free demo incorporates feedback from the closed demo test held in June. CRYMELIGHT’s free demo is an updated version of the BitSummit Punch demo, and features updates to the combat, user interface, visual effects, and world-building. These demos come in light of FuRyu vowing to dispel the skepticism that often surrounds the gameplay in its titles.
ANOMALITH is a survival horror shooter set in an alternate version of Japan where the Showa era didn’t end as it historically did. As Reona Minazuki, a “Diver” of the government-backed agency known as the “Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office,” you explore naturally-emerging “Anomaly Zones” in search of your missing friend. In true anime protagonist fashion, however, Reona acquires unique powers on her first dive into an Anomaly Zone. As the only surviving member of her team, she must now discover the secrets of her powers, the Anomaly Zones, as well as the whereabouts of her friend.
Gameplay revolves around exploring Anomaly Zones, where you engage in third-person gunplay and collect ammo and Anomalous Objects, the latter of which are used to develop and upgrade your equipment. Reona’s powers give her access to Anomalization Skills, which include the ability to parry enemy attacks, shoot homing missiles, and project decoys. There’s also a fair bit of inventory management, which gives diving into Anomaly Zones an extraction shooter-like feel.
CRYMELIGHT is a roguelite action game and a standalone successor to FuRyu’s dark CRY bishojo action game series, preceded by 2018’s CRYSTAR and 2025’s CRYMACHINA.
The game is set in the afterlife prison known as Wonderland, where souls are held captive and must “confront their sins” to be freed. As an amnesiac girl who is given the name Alice, you enter Wonderland to participate in a death game. Only by defeating the Queen – the ruler of the dark prison – can you escape.
CRYMELIGHT’s gameplay is divided into roguelike combat and poker-style deckbuilding. While combat revolves around defeating enemies to create an ever-expanding field that buffs you, the deckbuilding sections have you forming loadouts using skill cards you get during your runs. You can hold up to five cards at any time, with the goal being to create “hands” that synergize with your attacks and combat style.
ANOMALITH is set to release on October 28 for Windows (Steam), while CRYMELIGHT is set to release on November 4, also for Windows (Steam). Both games will have free demos on Steam that will be available from July 31 to August 7.
