GTA6: Heavy smoker finds motivation to stop smoking thanks to upcoming release 

A Grand Theft Auto series fan recently announced their intention to quit smoking. Their motivation? So that they can be in their best possible health to play the upcoming GTA6. The post, which was made in the Grand Theft Auto 6 subreddit, has attracted a lot of encouraging and supportive comments from fellow fans.

On the GTA6 subreddit, user RoeJoganLife shared a post explaining how their enthusiasm for the upcoming title had made them decide to quit smoking. In the post, the heavy smoker explained how they want to make sure that they are in good health so that they can fully enjoy the series’ latest offering. In response, they received an outpouring of support from the GTA Reddit community, with over 1.5K upvotes and over 100 positive comments. 

In his follow-ups to the comments, RoeJoganLife thanked everyone for the encouragement, adding that ‘It’s day 11 now, and I’m going to walk the dog with a coffee, a smile on my face, and no cigarette in sight.’  

This is not the first time that hype for GTA6 has inspired fans to make difficult decisions. For example, in 2019, the YouTube channel 10HoursMovies announced that they would continuously drive around the map in GTA5 until GTA6 was released. The channel’s attempt seems to have already ended as the video links are no longer viewable. However, it has since inspired other users to undertake the challenge to varying degrees, such as YouTuber Nickos IV.  

While there are many users around the world who take on a variety of challenges in the run up to a game’s release, it is rare to see someone giving something up for health reasons. We hope that RoeJoganLife will successfully quit smoking. 

The first trailer for the new Grand Theft Auto game will premiere in early December.
