“Let’s meet again in hell” Japanese out-of-print manga archive Manga Library Z begrudgingly shuts down, but swears to be back

Last month, the Japanese digital manga archive Manga Library Z announced that it would be shutting down as trouble with international payment processors made the site unable to sustain itself and its contributors financially. J-Comi (who owns Manga Library Z) officially suspended services as of November 26.

On the bright side, Manga Library Z’s administrators seem optimistic about reviving the platform in the future, quoting Terminator’s “Hasta la Vista, baby” or, in Japanese, “Let’s meet again in hell, baby.” They are currently considering various options to restart the site.

In addition, according to the latest announcement from the platform, Manga Library Z will provide its users with a grace period to re-download their purchased PDFs from December 5 to December 26. Contributing artists and authors on the platform will be provided with a way to access their personal pages normally.

J-Comi encouraged users to stay tuned for future updates on the situation.
