Team Ninja’s Nioh 3 to get brand-new demo just one week before February 6 launch

Nioh 3's new demo will launch on Steam and PlayStation for on January 29, 2026, just one week before the game's full release.

During The Game Awards 2025, Koei Tecmo announced that Nioh 3, the upcoming title in Team Ninja’s action RPG series, will be getting a brand-new demo launching on Steam and PlayStation 5 on January 29, 2026. The full game is slated for release on February 6.

Playing the demo, you will be able to carry over your saved data to the full game once it’s released. The game also comes with a new early purchase bonus – players will be able to obtain William and Hide’s armor if they preorder the game.

Nioh 3 already got an alpha demo back in Summer this year, but as per the series’ long tradition of putting out demos, the players will get a chance to give the game one more shot before its final version launches. In a recent interview, the devs at Team Ninja explained that sticking to that tradition was necessary in order to balance out the “die-and-retry” gameplay style of the new title while also getting a more objective outlook on the game.

“Player feedback sometimes reinforces our confidence in what’s good in the game, and other times it makes us rethink things entirely. I also believe this process has helped fuel the passion of the playerbase and grow a community around the Nioh series,” said producer Fumihiko Yasuda. The upcoming demo will be the devs final chance to hear the players’ opinions and brush up the game before the grand launch in February next year.

Nioh 3 is set to launch on February 6 for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5.
